How to Lower Binance Fees: 3 Methods You Can Combine
A discount percentage alone does not tell you the real cost. Your fee depends on the market, VIP level, maker/taker role, and any BNB or promotional benefit currently available.
This guide was checked in July 2026. Rates change, so verify them in your account and against Binance's official fee calculation guide.
Start with the fee formula
Fee = executed trade value × your current fee rate
If you buy 1,000 USDT of crypto at a 0.1% taker rate, the one-way fee is about 1 USDT. Selling the same value later would make the round-trip fee about 2 USDT, before discounts and price changes.
Method 1: Check referral benefits before registration
New users can open the registration page with code BNB6669. Before creating the account, confirm that the page explicitly shows the rebate or discount, eligible products and terms. A benefit not shown on the page should not be treated as active.
- New account: open the registration page and verify the displayed benefit
- Existing account: referral attribution usually cannot be added later
- Spot, futures and regional campaigns may have different rules
Method 2: Pay eligible fees with BNB
Check the fee or BNB discount setting in your account and keep enough BNB for deductions. After a small trade, verify the fee rate, fee asset and actual amount in the trade history.
This can suit active users who accept BNB price risk. It may not suit users who do not want to hold BNB or whose region does not offer the feature.
Method 3: Use maker orders when execution is not urgent
A maker adds liquidity to the order book; a taker removes existing liquidity. Maker fees are often lower, but a limit order is not automatically a maker order. A marketable limit order can execute immediately as a taker.
To improve the chance of maker execution:
- Place a buy below the best ask or a sell above the best bid.
- Use Post Only when the interface offers it.
- Do not sacrifice a necessary exit just to save a small fee.
How the methods compare
| Method | Works for existing accounts? | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Referral benefit | Usually no | Must be confirmed before sign-up |
| BNB fee payment | Yes | Requires BNB and feature availability |
| Maker order | Yes | May not fill or may fill partially |
The safest process is to check your live rate, make one small trade, and verify the actual deduction instead of relying on a fixed percentage from an old article.
Common mistakes
- Ignoring slippage, which can cost more than the fee saving.
- Constantly repricing maker orders and missing the trade.
- Treating a campaign benefit as a permanent rate.
- Trading unnecessarily just to reach a VIP tier.
